This is a remote position. We are representing a respected national wealth management firm that blends financial planning, life coaching, and investment management into a personalized approach to helping clients achieve lasting success.
They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Director to lead the launch of their new tax division. The Tax Director will work closely with their lead advisors, helping to deliver comprehensive tax planning, strategy, and preparation services to their clients. This is a remote position that focuses on the preparation of tax returns and working directly with clients to help them achieve their tax and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities Lead tax preparation by managing the accurate and timely preparation and review of individual, trust, estate, gift, and multi-state tax returns
Conduct advanced tax research to resolve complex issues, respond to IRS and state inquiries, and ensure compliance with changing tax laws and regulations
Develop and implement proactive tax strategies to minimize liability and enhance efficiency, including Roth conversions, charitable giving, estate/trust planning, and tax-efficient withdrawals
Collaborate with lead advisors and clients to integrate tax strategies into broader financial planning, identifying opportunities to increase assets under management and consolidate outside assets
Provide year-end planning and projections, delivering actionable insights and detailed recommendations to optimize client outcomes
Establish best practices and processes for tax planning, preparation, review, and compliance, ensuring scalability of the firm’s new tax division
Educate and engage clients and team members by leading webinars, creating content, and training colleagues on tax planning strategies and opportunities
Requirements Minimum of 6 years’ experience in tax management, preferably in the finance industry
CPA license required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience providing tax consulting to high-net-worth individuals and families, including personal, business, estate, gift, and trust tax returns
In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and compliance requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and approachable way
