We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Director to join our fast-paced Accounting and Finance team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who is not afraid to dive in and take charge of our tax department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of clients, mentoring and developing staff, conducting detailed tax reviews, and researching complex tax issues. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive individual who is ready to "roll up their sleeves" and contribute where needed.
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director, you will be expected to:
1. Manage a diverse book of business, ensuring all tax obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Mentor and develop staff, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
3. Conduct detailed reviews of tax returns and financial statements.
4. Research and resolve complex tax issues, providing expert advice to both clients and staff.
5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure all financial objectives are met.
6. Maintain a thorough understanding of current tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains in compliance.
7. Assist in other areas as needed, demonstrating a willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and contribute to the team's overall success.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Tax Director role will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior tax role within the Accounting and Finance industry.
2. Proven experience managing a diverse book of business.
3. Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review complex financial data and make informed decisions.
5. Excellent research skills, with a proven ability to resolve complex tax issues.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and staff.
7. A proactive attitude, with the willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and contribute where needed.
8. An in-depth understanding of current tax laws and regulations.
9. Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
