Assistant Director of Surgical Services Location: Fort Mill, SC Hours: Full Time, Days $20, Sign-On Bonus! Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Surgical Services will have a crucial role in the daily operational management and clinical leadership of the Surgical Services department(s) at [Hospital Name/Organization]. Responsible for collaborating with the Director of Surgical Services [or relevant leader], this position will involve overseeing all departmental functions to ensure efficient workflow, optimal patient care, and effective resource utilization. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members to create a high-performing, patient-focused environment. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, managing procedures, procuring supplies and equipment, and coordinating schedules. Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Surgical Services in the daily operational oversight of assigned areas within the Surgical Services department(s). Provide support and guidance to nurse managers, charge nurses, and staff, fostering a collaborative work environment. Assist with developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient utilization of personnel. Collaborate with materials management for ordering, inventory, and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Monitor and manage departmental budgets to identify cost-effective opportunities. Act as a clinical resource and role model, promoting best practices and patient safety. Facilitate communication and collaboration among surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and related departments. Participate in performance improvement activities, data collection, and analysis for process optimization. Assist in training and developing surgical services staff. Act as a delegate for the Director of Surgical Services as necessary. Maintain knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Qualifications: Required: Academic degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). Current and valid RN license in South Carolina. Current BLS certification. Minimum of 2 years progressive leadership experience in hospital surgical services. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a surgical services setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Preferred: BSN degree. Master's degree in Nursing or related field. CNOR or other specialty certification. Experience in budget management and resource allocation. Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
