Sr. Director, Product Management - AI/ML Platform Intelligence at Capital One

Overview

Sr Director, AI/ML Platform Intelligence will lead a product team spanning the Machine Learning and Generative AI platforms at Capital One and will be responsible for the core platform services for the AI/ML platform that powers mission critical business applications. This role partners with technology, risk, security, and business teams to monitor platform performance, identify issues, and support resilience.

This role requires translating user needs (data scientists and engineers) into powerful, performant capabilities with an excellent developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a product team across ML and Generative AI platforms and own core platform services that power mission critical applications.
• Partner with technology, risk, security, and business teams to monitor platform performance, identify issues, and support resilience.
• Set product strategy and priorities grounded in technical understanding and user experience; measure benefits of improved capabilities and developer experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in five foundational areas of Capital One Product Management: Human Centered, Business Focused, Technology Driven, Integrated Problem Solving, Transformational Leadership.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 9 years of experience in Product Management.
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following with the expectation that the degree will be obtained by the start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field or a Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• 3+ years in innovative technology environments that use public cloud and open source technologies.
• 3+ years of building business-critical AI and Machine Learning products.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies such as Kubernetes, Observability, Security, AI/ML Experiment Management, or Model Monitoring.
• Experience in Gen AI Application Evaluation, MLOps, or AIOps.
