Skills and Competencies 10+ years of industry experience within (re)insurance and/or (re)insurance broking required
Established track record of successfully developing a network of clients and nurturing deep relationships with insurance industry professionals desired
Strong familiarity with insurance market drivers and trends required
Broad understanding of the competitive landscape for products and services targeted at the P&C underwriting community desired
Experience in publishing and delivering thought leadership through research, publications, and speaking engagements preferred
International experience preferred
Clear written and oral communication skills with an ability to convey complex concepts to a senior audience required
Position requires approximately 25% travel
Education Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) required
Graduate/second-level degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s, or Ph.D.) preferred
Responsibilities The Senior Director-Business Development will collaborate with sales, strategy, customer engagement, and product management teams to develop sales opportunities and drive new product development across insurance customers and prospects. The role involves engaging with clients to understand their needs related to data sourcing and workflows, supporting sales activities.
Understand the insurance client base and market opportunities in the Americas, focusing on data solutions for the Property and Casualty sector
Work with sales, product, and marketing teams to promote Moody’s capabilities
Develop a network of senior stakeholders and participate in client advisory boards
Increase meeting activity within client organizations
Identify and participate in key industry events to expand Moody’s reach
Source new opportunities through networking, profiling, and market intelligence
Collaborate with product management to gather market feedback
Highlight growth opportunities with senior management
Support and lead colleagues on key opportunities
Coordinate outreach plans with marketing, including PR and speaking engagements
For US-based roles: the salary range is $172,900 - $250,600, depending on experience and other factors. This role is eligible for incentives and benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and more.
