Senior Director of Business Development – Home Improvement on the National Sales Team
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Director of Business Development – Home Improvement to lead the acquisition, launch, and expansion of new merchant partnerships within the Home Improvement sector. This strategic role is instrumental in driving loan originations and transaction volume by connecting homeowners with accessible financing through our merchant network.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant Acquisition: Identify, engage, and secure new merchant partners in the Home Improvement space, including outdoor living, landscaping, and specialty service providers. Strategic Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, C-level executives, and key decision-makers. Industry Representation: Serve as an AFF ambassador at trade shows, expos, conferences, and webinars—both regionally and nationally. Pipeline Development: Proactively research, network, and cold call to develop a strong pipeline of qualified leads and business opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Inside Sales, Field Sales, and National Accounts teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term success of merchant partners. Sales Performance: Consistently achieve or exceed targets for new originations and profitability. Customer Experience: Oversee a smooth transition from sales to implementation, ensuring a high-quality experience aligned with AFF’s service standards.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in Home Improvement, Consumer Finance, or FinTech. Demonstrated ability to prospect, close deals, and meet or exceed sales goals. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Willingness to travel for regional and national events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required). Experience selling financing or payment solutions in the Home Improvement industry. Familiarity with Lease-to-Own, Point-of-Sale Financing, or Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) products.
