Position Summary:
The Sr. Director, North America, Commercial is accountable for all regional sales and marketing activities, scientific affairs, direct sales and customer experience of the Protein Diagnostics business customer segment in North America. This position leads strategic development, implementation and the execution as well as account management, regional marketing and medical affairs teams. Drives the team to accelerate bookings, revenue generation and meet/exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Recognize and capitalize on growth and profitability opportunities. Increase market share by developing a marketing plan and identifying new markets and prospective customers. Drive sales development through regional organization in conjunction with marketing guidelines set by the Business Unit. Deliver bookings and revenue for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s products within the region consistent with the target/budget. Act as company's representative, ensuring a positive customer experience and building strong relationships with senior executives (C-suite, R&D, Finance, Operations) to drive long-term business relationships. Develop regional segment strategy and collaborate with direct reports, business development managers, Business Unit product marketing, and cross-functional colleagues. Provide timely and consistent reporting to management and Business Units about competitive outlook. Deliver support and feedback as needed. Establish sales targets and provide weekly forecast updates.
Role Requirements:
Extensive background in Life Science or Diagnostics sales and business development with a consistent record of driving and exceeding sales targets. 10+ years in the field with marketing leadership experience in technology-intensive capital equipment within the Life Science industry. Demonstrated sales leadership, strategic selling, and negotiating skills that highlight commercial and business insight. Account development, innovative customer growth strategies, complex deal making, leadership in associated markets. Success developing and supporting Account Managers and Area Sales Managers. Experience working with Service Managers and Service Engineers in target markets, preferred. Efficiently implemented sales processes. (e.g. tracking customer contacts, developing prospects, qualifying sales leads, entering orders, managing pipelines, forecasting, creating compensation plans, etc.). Undergraduate degree required; a technical degree/MBA is desired. Willingness to travel 60% in the region, and occasionally globally

Successful candidate will have experience in multinational company with ability to lead and achieve results in a matrixed operating environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities. High energy level to model values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement are also required.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $205,400.00–$270,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
