The Collectibles category is both eBay's historical core, and a dynamic, innovation-driven business providing the greatest contribution to growth within eBay's recent business performance. This role leads the US Collectibles business, covering categories as diverse as Trading Cards, Coins, Comics, Sports, Memorabilia, Art, Antiques, and is responsible for driving the US business performance and strategy of this critical eBay category. As Sr Director, GM of US Collectibles, you will operate at the center of a complex, matrixed Fortune 500 environment, collaborating with executive leadership, corporate center, and shared services such as Product, Technology, Marketing, and Customer Support. Your leadership will be essential to driving continued business growth and maintaining eBay's leadership in a fiercely competitive, rapidly evolving marketplace. Key Responsibilities: P&L Leadership: Own and drive the full P&L for the multi-billion dollar US Collectibles business, ensuring sustained growth, profitability, and operational excellence across all Collectibles categories.
Strategic Direction: Develop and execute category strategies that anticipate market trends, drive innovation, and secure eBay's leadership in Collectibles, including annual and long-range planning.
Team Leadership: Directly manage a high-performing team of ~X, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration across the Global Collectibles team, and with all key supporting functions.
Innovation: Ensure the power of AI is integrated into both internal operations and customer facing experiences
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with eBay's Executive Leadership Team and functional partners (e.g., Marketing, Product Management), ensuring seamless alignment and execution of key strategic initiatives.
Operational Excellence: Oversee category operations, analytics, reporting, and funnel performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Seller & Customer Focus: Champion the needs of the platform's largest sellers and diverse buyers, to drive an ever higher standard for the Collectibles customer experience on the eBay platform.
External Partnerships: Build relationships with key industry partners, to bring new inventory, and innovative experience to eBay buyers and sellers.
What You Will Bring: Experience: 12-15 years experience with increasing responsibility as a general manager in an online high-growth marketplace, digital platform, or retail environment.
7+ years experience in Management Consulting, or equivalent.
Operational Mastery: Deep expertise in marketplace dynamics, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence.
Industry Passion: A deep passion for eBay's mission and the Collectibles industry.
Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to set vision, develop strategy, and execute complex initiatives at scale, with a track record of delivering results in highly competitive markets.
Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with experience managing relationships across C-suite, and cross-functional partners.
Global Perspective: Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed teams and driving cross-border business in a matrixed, multinational environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below: $234,000 - $312,400 The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: $181,200 - $264,300 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
