The Sports Information & Media Director leads all media, marketing, and visibility efforts for NWACC Athletics, serving as the key storyteller and content creator for our emerging NJCAA program. This role focuses heavily on digital engagement—managing web and social media presence, producing photo/video content, promoting events, and building brand recognition. The Director also fulfills traditional sports information duties, including statistics, reporting, and game-day operations. Beyond athletics, this position supports student life, enrollment marketing, and school spirit initiatives across campus. It serves as a vital bridge between athletics and college-wide marketing, enhancing student engagement and community connection.
Essential Duties: Lead Creative Strategy & Content Production: Serve as the primary creative lead for all
athletics marketing
content—producing photography, videography, short-form video storytelling,
promotional graphics,
and digital assets for events, game days, and recruitment. Manage Social Media & Digital Engagement: Build and maintain a strong, on-trend presence
across Instagram,
X (Twitter), YouTube, Facebook, and emerging platforms to drive engagement and visibility. Promote Events, Fundraising & Student-Athletes: Develop and implement content strategies that highlight athletic events, fundraising initiatives, department milestones, and
student-athlete stories. Oversee Sports Information Operations: Serve as the official statistician and records manager for NJCAA teams; report results to the NJCAA, Region 2, and media; maintain the athletics website with current rosters, schedules, stats, and records. Write & Distribute Media Content: Create and share press releases, game recaps, and feature stories that elevate the visibility of NWACC’s programs and student-athletes. Coordinate Media Relations & Recognition: Act as the primary media contact for
athletics—managing
interviews, credentialing, and award nominations while promoting coaches and athletes at all levels. Lead Game Day & Live Coverage: Manage all game-day media operations including livestreaming, scoreboard graphics, and student media crews; ensure professional-quality digital coverage for all events. Support Campus Spirit & Student Life: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote student life, spirit events, and campus activities that contribute to a vibrant student experience and community culture. Integrate Athletics into Institutional Marketing: Work closely with College Marketing and PR to align branding, contribute to enrollment campaigns, and ensure athletics media reflects NWACC’s mission and values. Rate of Pay: $51,193 *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position. Completed applications received by 7/28/2025 will be assured full consideration. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or related field Minimum 2 years of experience in sports information, athletic marketing, or multimedia content creation Demonstrated experience in social media management, photography, video production, and graphic design Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in a relevant field Experience working with NJCAA, NCAA, or NAIA athletic programs Supervisory experience or leading student workers in media roles Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Passionate about college athletics, storytelling, and student success Energetic, forward-thinking, and highly creative Strategic thinker who thrives in a start-up-like, collaborative environment. Adaptable, deadline-driven, and highly organized.
