This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Branch Executive Director provides inspired leadership to ensure that the branch delivers on the Heart of the Valley YMCA’s mission: to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. This position leads the branch in strengthening community connections, fostering youth development, and promoting healthy living and social responsibility. The Executive Director serves as the face of the Y in the community — building partnerships, empowering staff, and ensuring every member, family, and guest feels welcome and supported.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit leadership, human services or related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in the YMCA or a related nonprofit/community organization.
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
Demonstrated success in fiscal management, staff leadership and relationship building.
Proven track record in fundraising and community development.
Passion for the Y’s mission and commitment to serving families, youth and diverse communities.
Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
Essential Functions Embodies and champions the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all decisions, relationships, and operations.
Builds meaningful relationships with local schools, churches, businesses, and civic organizations to advance the YMCA’s impact and meet the unique needs of the Heart of the Valley community.
Oversees all branch operations, including membership, programs, childcare, wellness, aquatics, youth sports, and community outreach. Ensures programs are safe, high-quality, and inclusive for all ages and abilities.
Develops and manages the annual budget. Monitors revenue and expenses, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability. Identifies growth opportunities in membership, programs, and partnerships.
Recruits, mentors, and develops staff and volunteers, cultivating a positive, mission-focused workplace where teamwork, service, and innovation thrive.
Leads annual campaign and special fundraising efforts. Builds relationships with donors and community supporters to ensure accessibility and expand impact.
Champions a member-first approach. Develops initiatives to engage families, improve member satisfaction, and increase participation across programs.
Collaborates with Association leadership to implement programs that address community needs, support family well-being, and foster youth leadership and inclusion.
Works closely with the branch advisory board to drive strategic priorities, fundraising, and community advocacy.
