Ogilvy Health is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Account Director for our Social Strategy team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping and executing integrated social media and influencer marketing strategies for our top pharmaceutical and medical device clients.
As the strategic lead on both branded and unbranded programs, you will oversee owned social channels and influencer collaborations, ensuring meticulous alignment with brand objectives and strict adherence to FDA and FTC regulations. This position demands a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, exceptional social media expertise, and a proven track record in navigating the unique complexities of pharmaceutical marketing.
What You'll Do Strategic Leadership: Serve as the "go-to" thought leader and expert, driving seamless integration between social media strategy, overarching brand strategy, and engagement planning for Ogilvy Health clients.
Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, cultivating strong, trust-based relationships, proactively addressing issues, and providing insightful strategic counsel.
Campaign Management: Oversee multiple complex campaigns from initial concept to successful completion, encompassing budgeting, resource allocation, meticulous timeline management, and comprehensive performance analysis.
Influencer Marketing Expertise: Lead the strategy, development, and execution of impactful influencer marketing programs (both branded and unbranded). This includes identifying relevant influencers, skillfully negotiating contracts, managing relationships, and crafting creative content briefs that inspire high-quality content.
Social Channel Management: Develop and implement robust content strategies for both product and corporate social media channels, ensuring the creation of engaging and relevant content that deeply resonates with target audiences. Possess a deep understanding of community management and social listening best practices.
Content Development & Creative Briefing: Oversee the development of high-quality creative content, providing clear, concise, and inspiring briefs to creative teams. Collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, and video producers to ensure all content aligns perfectly with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with PR, Research & Analytics, Creative, and Paid Media colleagues, as well as partner agencies, to ensure flawless campaign execution and maximized impact.
FDA and FTC Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of FDA and FTC regulations pertinent to social media and influencer marketing within the healthcare industry. Ensure all activities are fully compliant and proactively mitigate potential risks.
Measurement & Reporting: Rigorously track and analyze campaign performance, providing regular, insightful reports to clients and internal stakeholders. Identify key insights and strategically optimize approaches based on data-driven findings.
Innovation & Best Practices: Stay continuously abreast of the latest social media trends, emerging platforms, and cutting-edge technologies. Identify opportunities to push boundaries and implement innovative strategies to enhance campaign performance.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide clear guidance and supportive mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative, positive, and growth-oriented work environment.
Business Development: Actively contribute to new business initiatives, including assisting with compelling RFP responses and supporting proactive outreach efforts. What You'll Need Must possess significant experience in branded pharmaceutical social media work and be comfortable and experienced with healthcare professional (HCP)-facing social media initiatives.
Must be accustomed to social media as an integral component of omnichannel marketing strategies. Digital marketing knowledge is a significant bonus.
6-9 years of progressive experience working with healthcare clients, preferably within an advertising agency setting.
Proven track record of successfully developing and managing impactful influencer programs for healthcare clients, encompassing both branded and unbranded initiatives.
Demonstrated experience managing social media channels for healthcare brands, including hands-on experience with third-party scheduling, monitoring, and listening tools.
Current understanding of FDA and FTC regulations and guidelines specifically related to social media and influencer marketing within the healthcare industry.
Exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex data, accurately track campaign performance, and generate insightful, actionable reports.
