Location: Maine Salary: $75k - $85k (DOE) + Housing/Relocation About Company / Opportunity: A true year around, four-season destination, the Resort offers eight interconnected peaks of world class skiing in the Mountains of Maine. We offer snowboarding, skiing, two Resort Hotels with conference space up to 500+ people and private golf club. Responsibilities: Ski Patrol Director leads the team responsible for on-hill safety, rescue operations, and emergency response, while also managing staffing, training, and snow safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will exercise sound judgment considering the effects on other departments and the company and will seek to maximize the value of the Team Member experience and the departments contributions to the success of the resort. Key Responsibilities: Risk Management: Overseeing on-hill risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Emergency Response: Leading and coordinating rescue efforts and emergency medical care. Staff Management: Managing a team of patrollers, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Snow Safety: Implementing and managing snow safety and avalanche mitigation programs. Budgeting: Managing the patrol department's budget. Safety Initiatives: Developing and implementing safety programs and initiatives. Work Culture: Fostering a positive and professional work environment within the patrol team. Leadership: Developing future leaders within the patrol team. Qualifications: Must have an EMT, WFR, or OEC certification or greater at time of hire. Within the first 2 seasons, attain and maintain current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification Current healthcare provider CPR/AED certification Expert-level ski or snowboard ability Comfortable working with children and adults of all ages Leadership knowledge and ability Calm, professional demeanor; inclusive; accepting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
