Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Manager/Director will work closely with a shareholder to provide high-level tax compliance and consulting services to large and complex engagements. This role will focus on investment partnerships and real estate entities with intricate income allocation structures. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients, review tax filings, resolve complex issues, and guide junior staff through mentorship and training.
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary advisor for tax compliance and consulting on large, complex client accounts
Review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S-corps, and related entities
Analyze and resolve complex income allocation and compliance issues
Conduct and present tax research to support client strategies and planning
Directly manage client communications and build long-term relationships
Collaborate with shareholders and firm leadership on tax strategy and business development
Mentor, supervise, and review the work of tax staff and senior associates
Drive efficiency in tax processes and implement improvements where needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master of Taxation preferred
Active CPA license (or member of state bar)
Minimum 10 years of tax experience in public accounting
At least 5 years of experience in a Senior Manager or Director-level role
Strong technical expertise in partnership taxation and complex income allocations
Proven leadership, project management, and supervisory skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and general tax preparation software
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position, with work-from-home flexibility after 90 days
This role is exempt from overtime pay
Scheduled overtime is required in the 8 weeks leading up to the April 15 and October 15 deadlines
