Under the guidance of the Branch Director, this position oversees the development of staff, programs, finances, and daily operations of the branch for Aquatics, Youth & Family, and Group Exercise. The Senior Program Director acts as a liaison to the community at large, advocating for YMCA programs and events as directed, and provides support to the Branch Director for all branch needs.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in related field 5 years’ experience in Youth Program development and management 5 years’ experience and proven success hiring, managing, training & developing staff 5 years’ experience of proven development and management of budget Physical/Mental Requirements: Must be able to routinely perform activities such as climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing for extended periods, walking, lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual tasks. Ability to lead, delegate, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Problem-solving, organizational, and task management skills; ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment. Detail-oriented with high accuracy and alertness. Demonstrates initiative without supervision. Ability to work with diverse groups in a friendly manner. Works collaboratively and independently, leading by goals and deadlines. Exercises discretion and confidentiality. Presents a neat and professional appearance. Job Requirements: Commitment to YMCA mission, vision, and values Attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, and Listen First Workshop Understanding of exercise science principles and their application in wellness Learn emergency procedures and branch policies Abide by all policies and work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends JOB RESPONSIBILITIESStaff Development: Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and manage staff focused on service and expertise. Develop strategies to support and motivate staff for program success and retention. Evaluate staff performance regularly. Maintain staff retention through positive reinforcement. Conduct monthly staff meetings, training, and development. Ensure staff certification records are current and meet standards. Program Operations: Ensure programs comply with YMCA standards. Develop and manage high-quality, safe programs with growth. Recruit participants for programs, tournaments, camps, and clinics. Integrate customer service strategies for retention and positive feedback. Use Personify and Team Sideline for records and communication. Monitor and evaluate program delivery and staff performance. Be visible during operational hours. Respond to inquiries within 24 hours. Communicate program updates and needs promptly. Adhere to child abuse prevention policies and procedures. Fiscal Management: Monitor and manage the budget to meet/exceed targets, increasing revenue seasonally and per event. Community Campaign/Financial Development: Lead and support fundraising and community engagement efforts. Facilities: Maintain safety and cleanliness, report irregularities, and conduct regular walk-throughs. Keep inventory of equipment and supplies. Other: Participate in branch leadership and support overall operations. Communicate promptly with staff. Attend training and conferences for professional growth. Perform other duties as assigned. EFFECT ON END RESULT: Providing leadership to achieve branch goals with high participation, satisfaction, and staff retention.
