About the Job The Senior Director of Merchandising is a vital leader within our Merchandising Buying team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned product categories. This role focuses on the creation and execution of short and long-term strategies that align with the company's business goals. Responsibilities include cross-category assortment planning, in-store and online merchandising, promotions, and go-to-market activities, guided by insights into our customers, competitors, and category trends. As a leader in retail, you will drive your team to consistently identify business opportunities, analyze trends, maximize product assortment, and develop actionable insights to promote growth and profitability. Collaboration will be key as you advocate for team initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of your strategies. Responsibilities: Lead a dedicated team responsible for assigned product categories and partner with Planning and Allocation teams. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy with full accountability for sales and margin results in line with the company's financial and strategic goals. Foster collaboration with Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Product Development, Store Operations, Digital, Marketing, and vendors. Drive business growth with urgency by utilizing business analysis to monitor sales, identify trends, and optimize product assortment. Manage vendor relationships, including annual negotiations for financial and business support. Support team development and the career growth of your associates. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred. 8-10 years of experience in Buying/Planning roles with progressive leadership experience; retail experience is essential. Demonstrated ability to evaluate analytics and apply them to informed business decisions. Proven track record of identifying sales opportunities and achieving margin metrics.
