Position Description
This Position is Open to Current TTUHSC Employees Only Manages and directs the day-to-day operations of a research center/institute or medium-sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Major/Essential Functions
Oversees the nursing functions of a health facility, including direct and indirect supervision of a 24-hour, 7-day a week health system. Coordinates medical providers’ schedule availability and medical services operations to ensure patients’ access-to-care is timely and appropriate. Coordinates dental providers’ schedule availability and medical services operations to ensure patients’ access-to-care is timely and appropriate. Coordinates with mental health providers to ensure access to psychiatry services and mental health counseling services are timely and appropriate. Establishes and manages care coordination efforts for referrals to specialty care and hospital care. Works with network providers to create mutually beneficial care pathways enhancing patients’ access to care. Is fully responsible for the administrative and operational activities in the health facility, including fiscal responsibility, staffing, and ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and university requirements. Works with university departments to establish and manage health quality and compliance practices to ensure high quality patient care, compliance to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Preferred Qualifications
Current TTUHSC employee. Prior experience at TTUHSC in a correctional healthcare setting. Nursing degree and Master’s degree in business, health administration, or nursing administration preferred. Experience leading a multi-disciplinary healthcare facility, including nursing care, primary care, dental care, and specialty care coordination. Prior experience using clinical and business information systems for decision support in clinical, operational, and strategic operations. Experience in organizational leadership, building strong teams, and establishing productive workflows; can demonstrate successful strategies for integrating and overseeing teams with diverse professional backgrounds and from different disciplines.
