Our client, a global, innovation-driven company is seeking a Senior Director, Tax Operations to lead the transformation and day-to-day execution of global tax reporting and compliance. The company operates in over 100 countries and is widely recognized for its leadership in technology, design, and manufacturing across high-growth sectors.
This role is a critical leadership hire, reporting directly to the Head of Tax, who is preparing to move into a broader finance leadership track (FPA/CFO). The successful candidate will not only lead global tax operations but will be groomed as a potential successor to the Head of Tax.

Key Responsibilities
- Global Tax Accounting & Reporting: Lead preparation and review of the global ASC 740 tax provision, financial disclosures, and SEC-compliant reporting.
- Drive tax-related audit readiness and manage all tax aspects of external financial audits.
- Oversee Pillar Two tax forecasting and modeling, and implement related reporting protocols.
- Direct purchase accounting and integration tax reporting for acquired entities.
- Own global FIN 48 reserve calculations and related risk assessments.
- Approve final journal entries and ensure accuracy of global tax account balances.
- Manage international provision review process with local finance teams and ensure consistency in application of accounting principles.
- Oversee tax rate modeling and deliver executive-level insights on effective tax rate drivers.
- Ensure SOX compliance for all global tax operations and documentation.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and develop a high-performing tax team, including U.S.-based and offshore professionals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Treasury, and external advisors.
- Implement best practices in tax provision automation, process efficiency, and internal controls.
- Serve as the company-wide subject matter expert on tax accounting policies, systems, and compliance frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required; MST or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of tax experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and in-house tax leadership at a large multinational corporation.
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740), international tax provisions, and SOX controls.
- Experience managing large-scale tax operations, including global provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision).
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style and a passion for team development and operational excellence.
- Strong communicator with proven ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.
