Xometry is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director, Sales Engineering to lead our growing team of sales engineers. In this key role, you'll drive technical pre-sales support, solution architecture, and product demonstrations for prospective and existing enterprise customers. You will play a pivotal role in accelerating revenue growth by equipping our sales team with the technical expertise to close complex deals and expand customer relationships.

You'll collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions and contribute to the overall product roadmap.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing Sales Engineering team by recruiting, mentoring, and fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.
Partner with sales leadership to develop and execute technical sales strategies aligned with revenue goals.
Guide the team in understanding complex customer requirements and designing tailored technical solutions leveraging Xometry's platform and services.
Oversee pre-sales support and demonstrations, including product demos, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing deep insights into Xometry's capabilities and the manufacturing landscape.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to relay customer feedback, influence product development, and align sales with product roadmaps.
Develop and deliver technical training programs to enhance the sales team's product knowledge and technical selling skills.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to inform strategies and product development.
Continuously optimize sales engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in sales engineering or solutions architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven success in building, leading, and scaling high-performing sales engineering teams, preferably within SaaS or marketplace environments.
Strong technical background with knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC Machining, 3D Printing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Injection Molding).
Experience working with enterprise clients and managing complex sales cycles.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Strategic, proactive problem-solver with a results-oriented mindset.
Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Willingness to travel as needed.
