Simon-Kucher is seeking a Senior Director - Sales Effectiveness Strategy to support our Industrials team in North America (US locations: Atlanta, New York, Chicago, San Francisco). Responsibilities
- Be a vital member of the Industrials consulting team, driving value-based outcomes across Sales Effectiveness strategy.
- Cultivate trusted client relationships, source project opportunities, and develop proposals leading to revenue generation.
- Develop and implement go-to-market and revenue model strategies, including customer segmentation, market prioritization, product launch, channel partnerships, customer account development, sales and marketing processes, talent strategy, sales compensation, performance management, quotas, KPIs & dashboards, and revenue operations (enablement & sales playbooks) tailored to client needs.
- Deliver solutions through deep content knowledge and client relationship-building in the Industrials sector.
- Identify client pain points and develop custom solutions for complex strategy engagements.
- Participate in proposal development and pre-sales meetings to address client needs while expanding Simon-Kucher’s commercial growth footprint.
- Own client engagements and projects focused on sales effectiveness strategy; balance customer success, project profitability, and employee satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional client service and communication, even in challenging situations.
- Lead and guide a large team of junior consultants to develop innovative insights using data, analytics, and research.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently, including coaching and development of project team members.
- Contribute to practice priorities, pursue new business opportunities, and support end-to-end proposal development and client pitches.
- Develop and deliver new thought leadership content (white papers, case studies, frameworks) in collaboration with peers and Partners.
- Stay abreast of industry trends relevant to clients; analyze processes and tools for continuous improvement.
- Recruitment and integration of new consultants; contribute to Simon-Kucher’s culture and success.
- Travel as required (at least 25%).
Qualifications
- Outstanding drive and ambition to be part of a growing, top-tier consulting firm and to pursue partnership.
- Undergraduate degree required; MS/MA/MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years in a professional services environment, with at least half in management consulting, serving Industrials or other B2B sectors.
- Strong knowledge of and passion for sales effectiveness solutions; proven ability to win and manage engagements.
- Expertise in growth strategies, go-to-market strategy, segmentation (advanced analytics), product/portfolio design, sales strategies, pricing, marketing, value proposition, distribution strategy, and monetization.
- Proven ability to build executive-level client relationships and sell complex strategy engagements in Industrials or B2B.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities with existing clients and develop deep senior client relationships.
- Experience owning engagements and delivering balanced outcomes for customer success, profitability, and team satisfaction.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to distill insights from large data sets.
- Inclusive, empathetic leadership; proven skills in recruiting, developing, coaching, and retaining top talent.
- Proven success in building and leading a sales effectiveness practice focused on profitable growth and IP development.
- Experience delivering complex change/program management projects and leading opportunities from creation to delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders and ability to present recommendations effectively.
- Collaborative, non-hierarchical leadership style; ability to work with clients, staff, and Partners.
- Existing North America network is a plus, preferably with senior sales executives.
- Proven ability to develop new thought leadership content.
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this position in New York is $240,000-$275,000/year and in California $250,000-$285,000/year. Compensation varies by experience, location, and business needs. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) with company matching.
