Overview A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Director of Quality Performance Improvement to drive the strategic direction of its Quality Management department. This executive-level role will oversee quality initiatives across multiple lines of business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and advancing organizational performance in clinical quality, member experience, and provider engagement. The Senior Director will report directly to senior leadership and play a critical role in shaping strategies that impact preventive care, chronic care management, behavioral health, and regulatory program success.
Key Responsibilities Partner with executive leadership to design and implement enterprise-wide quality improvement strategies. Serve as a subject matter expert in HEDIS/QARR, CAHPS, HOS, CMS Star Ratings, and other quality incentive programs. Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute action plans that improve quality performance and control costs. Drive provider engagement strategies to close care gaps, improve risk scores, and optimize quality incentive outcomes. Oversee compliance with state and federal regulatory programs, including performance improvement projects and audits. Conduct root cause analyses, identify areas for improvement, and measure effectiveness of quality interventions. Convene and lead cross-departmental and external workgroups to support quality goals. Report results and progress to senior leadership, quality committees, and governing bodies.
Qualifications Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or related clinical field required. 10+ years of healthcare or managed care industry experience (5+ years in a clinical setting preferred). Extensive knowledge of HEDIS/QARR, CAHPS, HOS, CMS Star Ratings, and related regulatory quality programs. Strong analytical and statistical skills; background in data analysis preferred. Clinical license (MD, NP, RN, PharmD, LMSW/LCSW, etc.) with 5+ years of clinical experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
