About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Director of Leadership Giving to join its dynamic team at a pivotal moment in its history. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the organization's $1 billion Campaign for National Parks, which is currently in full swing and may be expanded in line with the nation's 250th anniversary. This role is not just about managing a donor portfolio; it is about shaping the future of leadership philanthropy and inspiring others to engage with the national parks. The Senior Director will be responsible for stewarding ultra-high-net-worth donor relationships, closing leadership gifts, and expanding the community of leadership giving donors. They will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to meet with philanthropists nationwide and will be expected to bring a proactive, collaborative, and intentional approach to donor strategy and cultivation.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of closing seven and eight-figure gifts, with at least ten years' experience in portfolio management and principal gift solicitation. A deep understanding of the influencers of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth philanthropy, as well as experience with various philanthropic structures, is essential. The role requires the ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to travel for donor meetings are also necessary. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for advanced education, and knowledge of the National Park Service or similar cultural and natural heritage organizations is a plus.
