The International Trade Compliance (ITC) team is responsible for the compliant execution of global export controls and sanctions laws and regulations. The successful candidate will report to the ITC Executive Leader and will manage a team of attorneys and compliance professionals. Responsibilities include ITC counseling, risk management activities, investigations, policy development, and leveraging analytics for continuous improvement. Our legal and compliance team is vital to our operations, ensuring compliance with global trade laws while enabling business growth. Key Responsibilities Manage and conduct investigations into potential non-compliance, including disclosures to government agencies, leading attorneys and managing outside counsel. Develop, implement, and manage ITC policies, procedures, tools, and controls across the business. Oversee risk assessments and provide legal counsel on sanctions and export controls, including updates on regulations and designated parties. Monitor laws and regulations, advising stakeholders on implications for GE Aerospace’s strategy. Provide legal advice during due diligence, mergers, and acquisitions related to ITC issues. Facilitate internal audits of global sites and functions. Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive compliance improvements. Manage a team of attorneys and practitioners, ensuring compliance and enabling business operations. Promote a strong culture of compliance enterprise-wide. Participate in trade compliance associations and industry discussions. Engage with government officials as needed. Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Requirements Juris Doctorate from an accredited university At least 7 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in International Trade Compliance or related fields Desired Qualifications In-house experience Flexibility and adaptability in a growing organization Strong commitment to compliance and integrity Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization Self-starter with effective networking skills Excellent time management, analytical, and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently and collaboratively The base pay range for this position is $168,600 to $280,000 USD annually. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skills. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health coverage, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and more. This role is restricted to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be required prior to employment. Final offers are contingent on obtaining necessary U.S. government authorizations for access to export-controlled information.
