Overview I'm partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-billion-dollar food manufacturer in Downtown Chicago. There are 20 manufacturing sites across NA and 15 innovation labs that are constantly developing new products within the food commodities space. This client's customer base is in well-known stores such as Costco, Walmart, Aldi, etc. and they partner with large CPG companies such as Pepsi, Mars, Kraft, etc. They are now seeking to bring on a Senior Director of FP&A their growing team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Senior Director of FP&A will oversee the monthly close process and deliver clear, insightful financial reporting. This role will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the Industrial Spices division, helping guide key business decisions through data-driven insights. The successful candidate will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset - someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and isn\'t afraid to challenge existing processes to drive improvement. They\'ll ensure accuracy and transparency in financial performance while supporting initiatives that align with the company\'s broader strategic goals. Job Description The Senior Director of FP&A Responsibilities: Serve as the primary financial partner for multiple business units, providing strategic insight and guidance to drive performance. Manage accounting operations, ensuring an accurate and timely month-end close, thorough variance reviews, and ongoing forecasting updates. Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventory reconciliation, and variance analysis, while recommending corrective actions when necessary. Lead both internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance and promptly addressing any audit findings. Maintain and enhance standard costing processes, analyze production and activity variances, and evaluate product and customer profitability. Prepare and interpret financial reports to support planning activities such as budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and KPI tracking. Strengthen financial policies and internal controls to improve operational integrity and compliance. Partner with operations and commercial teams to evaluate margins, monitor trends, and uncover opportunities for profit optimization.
