Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Forecasting & Production Planning oversees forecasting and production planning at multiple contract manufacturing facilities across North America. Responsibilities include analyzing sales data, forecasting finished goods needs, coordinating production with contract manufacturers, tracking production line time, validating and reporting on production achievements, and facilitating communication between contract manufacturers and SAMBAZON. The role requires managing production to ensure product availability, with strong skills in forecasting, planning, and contract manufacturing management. The candidate will also coordinate a monthly S&OP process between Sales and Operations and should be willing to travel to manufacturing sites as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales forecasts to plan monthly finished goods production with domestic contract manufacturers.
Coordinate with Technical Services to understand manufacturing capabilities relative to production requirements.
Manage all phases of forecasting, production planning, and scheduling to prevent out-of-stock situations, including submitting and updating purchase orders.
Oversee production calendars, monitor weekly production data, and confirm attainment against targets.
Forecast, plan, and manage R&D trials and new product launches at manufacturing facilities.
Maintain and publish a quarterly Contract Manufacturing scorecard with the Technical Services team.
Manage current and future manufacturing partners to meet production needs for existing and new products.
Enforce production pricing and volume commitments in contracts and ensure compliance.
Adjust production schedules to flex capacity across multiple facilities.
Work with Procurement to maintain BOMs in SAP, ensure MRP adherence, and resolve related issues.
Maintain positive relationships with management and staff at manufacturing sites.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or Manufacturing; higher degrees preferred.
Relevant certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM are highly desirable.
At least seven years of forecasting and production planning experience in Food and Beverage, including compliance and record-keeping.
Experience working within or with food contract manufacturing environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of manufacturing operations, including food processing and packaging.
Experience managing volatile supply chains and logistics in food categories.
Strong organizational skills and electronic data management.
Knowledge of processing platforms, food safety risks, and compliance standards like FDA, Organic, and Kosher.
Mathematical skills related to product formulations.
Willingness to travel as needed to manufacturing sites.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal teams, customers, regulatory authorities, and global colleagues.
Understanding of manufacturing setup, production needs, and line operations.
Forecasting or production planning experience in contract manufacturing is a plus.
Ability to lead in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Ability to collaborate across functions within SAMBAZON and with external partners.
