Your Impact
The Senior Director, Manufacturing Site Leader at the SkyBridge/Mesa facility is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality, safety, maintenance, material movement, and continuous improvement at Axon's new manufacturing facility in Mesa, AZ. This leader will drive operational excellence, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure the facility meets or exceeds company goals in quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do
Location: Onsite at our Mesa, AZ facility
Reports to: SVP, Global Manufacturing Operations
Direct Reports: 5-6 Manufacturing Leaders
Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage all daily plant operations and activities.
- Set strategic goals for manufacturing aligned with company objectives.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements.
Team Development & Culture
- Build and develop a high-performing, engaged workforce.
- Champion safety-first and continuous improvement cultures.
- Coach and mentor direct reports and foster leadership growth at all levels.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Drive proactive safety initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain clean and audit-ready operations through 7S and lean practices.
Quality Assurance
- Partner with quality and engineering to maintain product excellence.
- Ensure robust root cause analysis and corrective action for any quality issues.
- Lead ISO or other certification initiatives if applicable.
Financial & Strategic Planning
- Manage facility budgets and control costs while meeting output goals.
- Collaborate with finance on capital investment planning and ROI evaluations.
- Support long-term strategic planning for site growth and capability enhancement.
Supply Chain & Maintenance
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, inventory, and material availability.
- Lead maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
- Drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
(Master's or MBA preferred.) - 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Proven track record in leading complex operations and high-volume production environments.
- Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence tools.
- Financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with ERP systems, data analytics, and digital manufacturing tools is a plus.
