WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Director, Government Affairs for our Washington, DC office. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and advancing WSP’s federal policy agenda, engaging with key stakeholders, and supporting our advocacy priorities in Washington, D.C.

Your Impact The Senior Director, Government Affairs will be responsible for developing and executing federal advocacy strategies aligned with WSP goals to support infrastructure improvements for our clients in transportation, energy, environment, water, buildings, and federal projects. Develop and execute federal advocacy strategies aligned with WSP goals to support infrastructure improvements for our clients in transportation, energy, environment, water, buildings, and federal projects. Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff, federal agencies, and relevant trade associations and coalitions. Monitor and analyze federal legislative and regulatory developments impacting WSP markets and clients. Develop corporate positions on federal legislation and regulations, coordinating with WSP senior management and market leaders to strategize and communicate WSP’s input to congressional staff, relevant federal agencies, and industry partners. Represent WSP in meetings and events with policymakers and industry partners. Coordinate with outside counsel and advocates to advance WSP goals. Support WSP’s federal political activities and represent WSP at political fundraisers. Who You Are Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience in government relations, communications, and stakeholder engagement Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field Ability to work well with the public and interact effectively with all organizational levels, including agency staff, senior management, executive leadership, board members, community leaders, and city/county/state representatives Experience working with public agencies Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and interdependently Strong time management skills and high attention to detail Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
