Position Summary This position is responsible for driving and supporting financial operations, programs and processes, with focus on quality of outcomes and superior service. Promotes a collaborative, open, and inclusive work environment within a highly matrixed organization, and serves as a primary advisor to entity/division senior management. This position is responsible for serving as a role model to staff across the system and representing Banner in a positive manner both within and outside the organization.
Core Functions Guides the development and implementation of short and long-range goals and objectives for the entity/division. Provides leadership and expertise in financial operations, oversight, and evaluation. Implements and evaluates strategic programs, develops tools to measure performance, analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations to senior leadership.
Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of direct staff and matrixed employees. Achieves plans and performance targets. Works with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex issues in benefits. Supports development and growth to meet goals. Promotes continuous quality improvement.
Builds and supports relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Develops partnerships, coordinates activities, reviews work, and resolves problems.
Develops and applies organizational policies, procedures, and practices. Develops internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain effective controls.
Develops and oversees the department budget. Meets annual budgetary goals. Translates plans into budget assumptions. Negotiates contracts with external vendors and monitors quality and performance. Manages expenditures and accounts payable.
Communicates the department vision and translates it into actionable projects. Maximizes staff contributions and timely decision-making aligned with the mission and values.
Reviews and presents reports to senior leadership to aid decision-making. Participates as a subject-matter expert and may lead task forces or councils. May serve as a staff resource to governing boards and committees.
This position has direct leadership accountability for financial operations within the designated entity/division. Requires negotiation and influencing skills. Stakeholders include leadership, staff, medical staff, regulatory agencies, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
Relevant certifications/licensures may be required depending on area of responsibility (e.g., RN; MD/DO; Driver’s License; CHPA; CPP; CPCU; ARM; CPA; SPHR; RHIA/RHIT; CHFM; CFM; CCS; CPC; JD; Bar admission).
Expert-level working knowledge in the area of responsibility with at least five years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including at least two years in a healthcare system or large multi-operational environment. Proven track record of driving performance and business acumen, including budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives.
Ability to mentor and coach staff, develop and implement strategic goals, and demonstrate strong human relations and communication skills. Commitment to high-quality care and service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
