World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Senior Director, Climate Communications. The Senior Director will lead the development and execution of external communications strategies that support the organization's climate objectives, resource mobilization, and broader outreach efforts. The incumbent serves as the primary contact for internal and external communications related to the Climate Goal team and coordinates climate communications across teams. The Senior Director plays a key role in strategy development and implementation. Salary Range: $144,600 - $207,900 Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. All hires will verify identity and work eligibility in accordance with federal law. Responsibilities Lead strategic communications for the Climate Team, including message development, internal communication, event participation, social media, and fundraising support. Collaborate with senior leadership to cultivate WWF's brand voice for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Develop and implement communication strategies to deliver climate outcomes and increase brand awareness among stakeholders. Ensure consistent climate change messaging organization-wide. Identify content opportunities to engage diverse audiences such as donors, partners, and policymakers. Manage climate communications staff. Lead WWF-US participation in major climate conferences and organize related events. Identify key events to enhance visibility and stakeholder relationships. Partner with leadership and experts to amplify climate programs through communications plans. Create content for various channels, including websites, social media, webinars, and collateral like videos and blogs. Coordinate climate messaging with other teams to maintain a unified approach. Work with the Media team to support media outreach and external communications. Identify and develop opportunities for executive speaking engagements and media appearances. Produce high-quality written content for leaders and monitor communication metrics. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, environmental issues, climate change, public policy, or business; postgraduate degree preferred. 12-15 years of professional communications experience with strong knowledge of climate change. Experience organizing participation in major climate conferences. Proficiency with social media content creation. Proven success in developing and managing strategic communications for diverse audiences. Excellent writing and editing skills. Content for senior leaders Creative thinker with experience using multiple channels to craft impactful messages. Strong interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders at all levels. Effective project management skills, capable of supervising staff and managing multiple projects. Willingness to travel as needed.
