Overview Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development. Dartmouth College is seeking a Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development to provide strategic oversight of Dartmouths athletics fundraising and stewardship program. The role develops and executes a strategic plan to increase engagement, commitment, and philanthropic support from alumni, parents, and friends to meet athletics priorities.
This position reports to the Athletics Director and collaborates with Development fundraisers across Principal Gifts, Leadership Giving, Family Giving, the Dartmouth College Fund, and athletic department leadership, volunteers, and boards to meet fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee engagement strategies for high-net-worth individuals to support athletics priorities through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of six-, seven-, and eight-figure gifts.
Maintain a personal prospect portfolio and manage a pipeline by reviewing prospect pools with field staff, typically involving 3050 families.
Partner with fundraising leaders across Principal Gifts, Leadership Gifts, Gift Planning, and academic units to ensure collaborative strategies and achievement of mutual objectives.
Apply knowledge of tax, investment, and legal aspects of giving to inform discussions with donors, counsel, colleagues, and volunteers.
Provide staff with guidance on prospect strategy and creative solutions to complex solicitations; staff the Athletics Director at select events as needed.
Develop engagement and solicitation plans in partnership with senior officers, Trustees, volunteers, and athletics staff.
Time Allocation 50%: Lead and supervise the athletics fundraising team; develop annual fundraising programs and donor stewardship activities; lead direct solicitation efforts.
25%: Leads marketing materials, donor communications, and planning for benchmarks and progress toward fundraising goals.
15%: Develop strategy for Athletics Fundraising to raise upwards of $9M+ annually (Friends Of programs) and $3M+ through a major gifts portfolio; coordinate capital project strategy.
10%: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage volunteers of the Dartmouth Athletics Advisory Board.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of relevant fundraising or development experience in education
Proven success in soliciting and closing six- and seven-figure gifts
Staff and volunteer management experience
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Experience creating and marketing gift opportunities
Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present complex information
Highly collaborative, professional, and service-oriented
Strong organizational and project management skills; initiative and creativity
Negotiation skills and understanding of prospect-centered fundraising and strategic planning
Ability to work independently and across multiple teams; attention to detail
Ability to travel, and work nights and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications Athletic fundraising experience
Background in athletics and commitment to competitive excellence
Campaign experience
Experience in a large, complex development operation
Experience raising leadership gifts for special projects and programs
Ability to motivate others and lead cross-organizational teams
Executive-level communication skills (verbal and written)
