Salary:

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $185,000 per year, plus incentives. However, actual pay will vary depending on a new hire’s experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity.

 

Position Overview:

FUCHS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Segment Leader to drive strategic growth in the Industrial Lubricants sector, with a focus on air compressors, industrial gearboxes, and the refrigeration compressor markets. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial lubrication technologies and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver commercial success. This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and will lead the commercial team dedicated to this segment, also collaborating closely with the New Castle operations group to drive the overall business segment success.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Segment Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute strategic plans for the rotary motion segment, aligned with FUCHS’ global vision and FUCHS 100 initative
    • Identify market trends, customer needs, and innovation opportunities across key applications and markets

 

  • Commercial Execution
    • Drive revenue growth and profitability through targeted initiatives and customer-centric solutions.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D, and operations to launch and support segment-specific products and initiatives

 

 

  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership
    • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams across regions and disciplines
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across segment

 

  • Customer & Market Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and end-users in the air compressor, gearbox, refrigeration compressor, and turbine markets.
    • Represent FUCHS at industry events and technical forums

 

  • Innovation & Product Development
    • Partner with technical teams to guide product development based on market needs and requirements
    • Ensure alignment with FUCHS’ commitment to technological leadership and sustainable solutions 

 

This role requires a strong combination of commercial acumen, operational insight, industry knowledge, and leadership capability to ensure the continued growth and success of the Rotary Motion segment.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and strategic leader for the Rotary Motion segment in North America.
  • Lead the segment team in the development of strategic plans and the structuring of tactical support initiatives.
  • Act as the key liaison with the executive team, responsible for reporting segment performance, presenting budget proposals, and articulating strategic direction.
  • Leverage FUCHS’ global network to identify and drive new business opportunities within the North American market.
  • Represent the segment in global and regional coordination efforts, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the negotiation of supply agreements, including commercial terms and conditions.
  • Maintain deep expertise in the rotary motion market, including trends, applications, and the full product portfolio.
  • Advocate for customer needs within FUCHS and ensure FUCHS’ value proposition is clearly communicated to customers.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and develop innovative mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong familiarity with the Ultrachem/FUCHS rotary motion product portfolio and its applications.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and commercial teams to ensure customers are engaged with emerging technologies and product innovations.
  • Maintain a North America-focused market perspective, while incorporating global trends and insights.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily within the U.S., with occasional travel to Canada and Mexico based on business needs.

 

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in industrial lubricants, with deep expertise in the targeted applications
  • Proven experience in initiating, managing, and closing sales processes in rotary motion segment targets
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex commercial initiatives.
  • Track record of securing new accounts and relating with new customers
  • Supplementary knowledge in finance, marketing, and management
  • Prior experience in a similar business development and / or and key account management
  • Possesses high level consultative selling abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic vision and planning
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MS-Office 360 applications and CRM (Salesforce desired)
