Effective School Solutions (ESS), a well-established and rapidly expanding organization that is changing the nature of in-school mental health services for elementary, middle school and high school students, is looking for a top tier mental health leader to join its team as a Clinical Program Director. The Director will provide supervision and oversight to ESS clinicians within Newark district, their assigned region, leading the therapeutic programs and managing the relationship with partner district personnel. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong combination of clinical and relationship skills and is looking to make a broad impact in supporting the mental health of at-need students. The Director will provide supervision and oversight to ESS clinicians within Newark district, their assigned region, leading the therapeutic programs and managing the relationship with partner district personnel. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong combination of clinical and relationship skills and is looking to make a broad impact in supporting the mental health of at-need students. Directors support with program implementation, account management, and clinical guidance.
The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical and therapeutic skills and have prior experience working with adolescent students. The candidate should also have the communication skills and relationship skills necessary to interact with school district leaders in an advisory capacity, and the project management and supervisory skills necessary to lead ESS clinicians and to lead ESS work in improving mental health outcomes in school districts. The candidate will work with a highly seasoned and professional management team that provides the best possible clinical services.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight:
Oversee the provision of clinical services to clients of the practice, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and culturally inclusive approaches. Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement treatment plans that align with the needs of students and the objectives of partnering school districts. Provide clinical supervision and support to licensed professionals within the practice.
Strategic Leadership:
Lead efforts to expand service offerings, reach new clients, and foster partnerships with school districts and other stakeholders. Stay informed about trends and best practices in mental health and education, integrating new insights into practice operations.
Personnel Management:
Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of clinical and administrative staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members to support their professional development. Address personnel issues promptly and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Financial Management:
Collaborate with finance team to develop and monitor budgets for clinical operations. Ensure the efficient use of resources and the achievement of financial targets. Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost containment measures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including school district leaders, community organizations, and regulatory agencies. Represent ESS at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote our services and mission. Respond to inquiries and concerns from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Skills
6+ years of clinical experience treating children and/or adolescents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges is required. Must hold a valid clinical license from the state in which the position is being offered in one of the following areas: Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy. (If region includes multiple states, obtaining licensure in additional state is required) 2+ years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Clinical Supervision certification to provide clinical hours towards licensure is required. Prior experience working in a clinical capacity within a school-based program is a plus. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and a solution focused approach to problem solving is preferred. Must be flexible and available for travel throughout assigned region. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using a computer. Must be able to complete clinical documentation to ESS standards.
