Sales Director

Directs and oversees the organization's sales function, ensuring that established revenue and profit goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership
• Develop and execute the company’s global sales strategy to drive sustained revenue and margin growth.
• Define short-term and long-term sales targets, KPIs, and channel strategies aligned with business goals.
• Identify and prioritize target markets, verticals, and key accounts across industrial, energy, and OEM sectors.
Revenue Growth & Forecasting
• Own the sales forecast, pipeline health, and order intake reporting.
• Expand customer base and grow share of wallet within key accounts.
• Collaborate with Finance and Product Management to align pricing, incentives, and growth targets.
Team Leadership & Development
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performance sales team including regional managers, technical sales, and key account executives.
• Set clear goals and accountability structures; lead through coaching, motivation, and performance feedback.
• Foster a culture of customer-first thinking, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence & Positioning
• Monitor competitive landscape, pricing trends, and market dynamics to inform strategy.
• Work closely with Marketing and Engineering to align product value propositions and go-to-market messaging.
• Attend trade shows, customer roadshows, and industry conferences to build presence and intelligence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to align sales with product roadmaps and delivery capabilities.
• Provide voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback to support innovation and product enhancements.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of B2B sales experience in power electronics, industrial automation, or a closely related industry.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferably in a matrixed or multinational organization.
Skills & Competencies
• Deep understanding of power conversion systems, inverters, UPS, or energy storage systems.
• Demonstrated success in exceeding $50MM revenue targets and growing accounts over multi-year cycles.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), forecasting tools, and funnel analytics.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey technical solutions to C-level and engineering audiences.

• YoY revenue growth rate
• Expansion of key strategic accounts
• Team performance metrics (quota attainment, retention)
• Gross margin contribution from sales initiatives
• Forecast accuracy and pipeline conversion
