RN-Director of MDS Full Time Cobble Hill Health Center is a not-for-profit long- and short-term care facility providing services to the disabled and elderly for over 40 years. The MDS Assessor will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our vision: to consistently exceed expectations and set the standard for excellence in residential and community care. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of MDS to lead and oversee all aspects of the MDS process, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and optimal reimbursement. This role is responsible for monitoring CMI, leading related meetings, and regularly communicating Quality Measures to the interdisciplinary team. The Director will review MDS assessments to ensure accurate coding, conduct PDPM reviews upon admission and prior to submission, and collaborate with rehab to verify correct primary diagnoses. Responsibilities also include reviewing UB04s, managing ADR responses and appeals, coordinating with Livanta, and submitting timely documentation to the billing company. The Director will also play a key role in audit responses, run Medicare Part B reports, and actively participate in key facility meetings including Medical Board, Therapy, QAPI, and Utilization Review. This role is essential in ensuring and maximizing proper reimbursement will maintaining compliance with federal and state guidelines. Position Qualifications This position requires a current New York State RN license and three or more years of experience in a long-term care facility as an MDS Coordinator, along with knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid criteria and assessment regulations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent listening and communication skills, the ability to complete documentation in a timely manner, as well as attention to detail and accuracy when performing assessments. RAC Certification, as well as prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
