Eklego is seeking a compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to join a team of nursing professionals working at a pediatric and young adult skilled nursing community, St. Margaret's Center, an affiliate of Center of Disability Services, located in Albany, NY. What will I do as the Director of Nursing? Under the direction of the Administrator of the Skilled Nursing Facilities, will plan, organize, develop, direct and supervise the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with the Federal, State and local standard, guidelines and regulations that govern the nursing facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

• Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of nursing services for the residents of St. Margaret's Center.
• Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of nursing care.
• Ensures the recruiting, orientation, evaluation, and scheduling of staff necessary to provide for resident needs is maintained.
• Responsible for providing overall supervision of all nursing department staff.
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the nursing service policies and procedures related to the scope of nursing services and nursing care that should be provided to the residents upon and after admission.
• Implements and enforce policies and procedures that cover essential nursing responsibilities to the residents and the facility.
• Responsible for ensuring that all required supplies and equipment are obtained and maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Provides administrative supervision/support by being available to the nursing staff 24 hrs. /day; 7 days per week by phone. May require return to the facility to assist with duties or emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid NYS RN License.
• Long Term Care experience
• At least 5 years of job-related experience as an RN and 3 years specifically in Supervisory Nursing Management.
• Associates degree in the field of Nursing, Bachelor's preferred.
