Position Summary This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility of the Director’s assigned areas and is accountable to support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Job Responsibilities Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice. Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, leadership ability, hospital operational ability, and ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
Qualifications Education: Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN. Preferred: MSN or master’s in a healthcare-related field.
Experience: Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
Certifications: Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
