Required Qualifications/Essential Duties:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety/risk management or similar fields such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in Safety/Risk management, emergency response, Gaming Industry or Gaming Regulatory Field
  • Must be trained in OSHA rules and regulations and be able to participate in the training of other associates.
  • Valid California Driver License
  • Must be able to obtain a California Gaming License and maintain throughout employment
  • EMT-1 License or obtain License within a year of hire date
  • Valid BLS Certificate or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Establish, maintain, and modify (as necessary) an effective system of risk identification and incident reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, Tribal and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Works in collaboration with TPCR, CEC, Yokut Hall and Yokut Gas to ensure Emergency Preparedness Plans are in place and updated annually.
  • Conduct safety/risk inspections in a timely manner.
  • Monitor any new construction taking place on property and ensure all Uniform Building Codes are being followed.
  • Coordinate life safety training programs to include AED, CPR, and first aid.
  • Meet with Director of Facilities regularly to facilitate repairs of defective equipment and to bring attention to areas of concern regarding health and safety of guests and associates.
  • Inspect and tour all buildings and outside areas of the Tachi Palace Casino Resort and other Tribal properties to detect existing and/or potential accidents and health hazards. Recommends corrective and/or preventive measures where indicated.
  • Train and alert managers and associates on the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substance.
  • Consult with departments on design and use of equipment on risk/safety programs.
  • Properly trains team members.
  • Monitors associate's performance during their shift. Providing coaching and counseling when necessary.
  • Complete and issue performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with all Human Resource policies and procedures, promoting an environment that treats all people with respect, and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations within the department.


Starting Rate of Pay: $91,520 (Exempt).
Approximate Hours: 40+ hours per week
