We're representing a confidential, growth-oriented food manufacturer seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to lead one of its fastest-growing retail segments. This is a high-impact, headquarters-level role responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth within the Emerald Brand portfolio - a category that has become a strategic priority for the organization.
As the Director of Sales, you'll lead a talented team while managing key customer relationships across the retail grocery channel , including strategic accounts such as Kroger and Ahold/Delhaize . This role blends strategy and execution - ideal for a sales leader who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and wants a visible seat at the table in shaping commercial direction.
What You'll Do Lead and elevate a national sales team , building a performance-driven culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and results. Own key customer relationships across major grocery retailers - driving strategic partnerships, category expansion, and long-term growth. Develop and execute customer business plans aligned with corporate objectives, delivering against volume, profit, and trade spend targets. Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service to bring commercial strategies to life. Shape go-to-market strategies that increase distribution, optimize promotional investments, and strengthen customer alignment. Leverage insights from market data and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and anticipate trends. Represent the voice of the customer at the leadership table - influencing long-term planning, innovation, and resource allocation. Who You Are A strategic commercial leader with 8+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years managing teams within retail grocery or CPG . Known for building high-performing teams and fostering trusted relationships with national and regional retail partners. Skilled in P&L management, forecasting, and trade optimization , with a track record of driving profitable growth. Experienced in customer development planning and negotiation at the executive level. Adept at working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization with the agility to pivot from strategy to execution. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred . Why This Role
