A well-established and rapidly growing restaurant group is seeking an experienced Restaurant Director of Facilities Manager to support its multi-unit operations across the greater Chicago area. Position Summary
The Restaurant Director of Facilities Manager will oversee all maintenance and repair activities across multiple restaurant locations, ensuring optimal performance of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and guest-ready environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee preventative and emergency maintenance of all restaurant facilities and kitchen equipment
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for cyclical services (hood cleaning, fire suppression, grease traps, etc.)
Conduct regular property inspections and audits, recommending and managing repairs
Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems
Respond to and prioritize work orders for multiple locations
Manage maintenance records and warranty tracking to control repair costs
Provide hands-on support for general facility repairs (e.g., carpentry, painting, patching, flooring)
Assist with capital expenditure planning related to facilities and equipment
Ideal Candidate Profile
5+ years of multi-unit facilities management experience (restaurant or retail preferred)
Proven technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration systems
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and safety codes
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in various environments
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across locations regularly
High school diploma required; trade certifications or college preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, salaried role: $90,000–$110,000 based on experience
