The Regional Director of Care works closely with the operations and clinical staff within the communities to ensure that the care provided to our residents exceeds operational standards and is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Position Summary:
Directs the Assisted Living and Memory Care Program. This position ensures that company standards and state requirements for resident care are met, directs staff and ensures regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Vice President of Clinical Operations.
Essential Functions:
Directly oversees the operations and clinical staff within the assigned communities to ensure that the care provided to our residents exceeds operational standards and is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Must be on call 24/7 for their division to assist with any staff or resident issues.
Coordinates, along with the Executive Director, staff training and state compliance needs.
Manages labor costs, supplies and other line items for the Assisted Living budget.
Works with residents, families and other staff to ensure that residents are at appropriate levels of care during site visits.
Develops and/or monitors documentation systems to ensure that all regulatory timeframes for review of assessments and service plans are met as well as resident needs.
Ensures that the properties tuberculosis testing is conducted in a timely manner.
Ensures all staff training is done within state compliance.
Writes and reviews staff performance during site visits.
Plans and schedules staff training programs and in-services for the Assisted Living and Memory Care properties.
Ensures compliance with all state regulatory requirements including mandatory reporting to State.
Ensures that all concern and incident reports are completed, filed and that follow-up is conducted appropriately during site visits.
Manages and coordinates the work of all nursing and other assisted living staff, communicating pertinent resident health and safety information.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Non-Essential Functions:
Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university; or one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the senior housing or long term care environment. Assisted Living experience required
Must be able to travel with extensive overnight travel
LPN/LVN or RN license
Proper license for each State in your division
Computer proficiency
