This position has full professional and administrative responsibility over the UCSDH Dietetic internship program. Position will ensure the program meets accreditation standards set forth by The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Position will recruit, onboard and schedule clinical rotations for 10 dietetic interns annually. This position requires dietetic intern and clinical dietitian (both inpatient and outpatient) oversight to ensure intern education needs are met. Position will require specific knowledge of ACEND accreditation standards as well as advanced knowledge and experience in clinical dietetics. Position will provide ongoing evaluation and competency assessment of dietetic interns ensuring they meet education requirements. In addition, this position will directly manage 4 clinical dietitians that provide the bulk of teaching and onboarding education for interns. This position will actively participate in interdisciplinary committee meetings, clinical nutrition meetings and coordinate the educational coursework dietitian preceptors provide to interns. This position is responsible for in-servicing clinical nutrition staff on preceptor requirements and expectations for clinical rotations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Registered Dietitian (RD).
Experience and proven success in academic and applied background in clinical nutrition for acute care setting.
Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy principles.
Solid understanding of application of principles to fit needs of patients of diverse health situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Nutrition. Professional nutrition certification. Previous leadership or teaching or supervisory experience. A majority of the clinical training must have taken place in a large teaching hospital. SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
