Description:
The Client is seeking a contract Public Health Program Director 1.
This position will serve as the program director for the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
The primary function of this position is to address the smoking rate of pregnant individuals through evidence-based interventions.
The program director will convene stakeholders and incorporate epidemiologic data to reduce the incidence and burden statewide.
Under direction, the program director is responsible for the development and administrative work of the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program grant/program.
The program director will perform related work as required.
The position will provide central office program management and technical consultation for the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and reporting on the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
The program director will develop, monitor, and maintain the contract and budget for the program.
They will determine the time, cost, resources, and materials needed to effectively enhance and expand the program.
The director will supervise and participate in preparing and maintaining various reports related to the program's development and implementation.
Facilitating the development of short- and long-term program strategies and goals is essential to enhance the program.
Providing technical assistance to health department staff, community organizations, and funded contractors will be required for the program's implementation and development.
The program director will develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external programs and organizations.
They will also resolve conflicts and settle disputes and grievances with partners regarding the program.
Identifying and ensuring the implementation of educational resources for community partners is a key responsibility.
The program director will communicate and interpret policies and procedures to staff and community partners about the program.
Maintaining public contact and liaison work with other departments, governmental entities, social and community agencies is necessary to implement and explain programs.
The program director will provide subject matter expertise and guidance related to evidence-based interventions designed to reduce smoking during pregnancy.
Collaboration with the internal evaluation team will assist in planning and developing needs assessments, surveys, program evaluations, and data input.
The position involves developing and implementing innovative practices to address social determinants of health.
The program director will create and distribute social media messaging, press releases, media campaigns, and brochures for the program.
