This role involves developing strategic direction and managing daily contracting and network activities within a specific territory. Responsibilities include: Managing complex contracting negotiations for fee-for-service and value-based reimbursements with hospitals and providers. Leading a team of direct reports (if applicable). Leading projects related to contracting strategy in the market. Building and nurturing provider partnerships and exploring broader value-based opportunities. Communicating effectively with internal partners such as Claims, Medical Management, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing. Developing provider networks and identifying value-oriented and risk-sharing opportunities. Supporting alternative network initiatives and network analytics development. Meeting cost targets while maintaining adequate networks to stay competitive. Implementing initiatives to improve medical costs and quality. Providing consultative support for total medical cost initiatives based on clinical informatics. Analyzing and projecting financial impacts of provider contracts. Creating compliant provider agreements and ensuring proper administration. Resolving escalated provider service issues through negotiation and problem-solving. Managing key provider relationships and understanding the local healthcare landscape. Ensuring accurate contract loading and network maintenance. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Healthcare, Business, or related fields; significant industry experience may substitute. 5+ years of experience in contracting and negotiations involving complex delivery systems. Experience with Commercial Health Insurance. Proven leadership and mentorship skills. Strong relationship management with providers. Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
