This position is full-time and located in a relevant project environment with potential remote or hybrid work options as determined by the manager.

Key Responsibilities

Business development

• Leading team efforts for marketing
• Strategy development
• Prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities
• Accountable for new business objectives and for overall project performance

Project management

• External focus to interact with assigned clients, participate in client activities, and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities
• Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies and leverage other Black & Veatch resources to advance the market footprint

Project execution

• Oversight of engineering manager(s)
• Development of project performance goals and accountability for implementation
• Active involvement with internal project teams and owner project representatives
• Budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned projects

Staff management

• Team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement
• Recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals and identification of new candidates to expand the team

Management responsibilities

Acts as a project manager with responsibility for managing a project team; team composition may vary by project.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 20+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the industrial sector
• Professional Engineering License; Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
• Understanding of budgets and financial metrics
• Contract negotiation skills including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) in compliance with applicable laws.

Work Environment

Typical office and construction environment with exposure to extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards, and various physical activities. Ability to sit, walk, talk, read, write, keyboard, drive, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Additional Information
