JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Project Director

Reports To: Chief Program Officer

Project Summary:

FLIPAs Project LAUNCH is a 5-year program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Childrens Health) grant designed to promote the wellness of young children, from birth to 8 years of age, by addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral aspects of their development, as well as prepare them to thrive in school and beyond.

Job Summary:

The Project Director will oversee project implementation in alignment to the approved project narrative, timeline, and budget. This role will coordinate with partners; schedule trainings; establish and support a Young Child Wellness Council; curate evidence-based practice resources; promote the program to the community; create new care access points; and oversee data collection and reporting. The Project Director will supervise the Project Coordinator and Evaluator.

Forward Leading IPA (FLIPA) is a nonprofit membership association of safety net providers working in partnership to provide the highest quality integrated healthcare to historically underserved populations in Upstate New York since 2017. FLIPA is renowned for its commitment to integrating primary care, behavioral health, and social care needs. Our growing membership serves individuals across more than 27 counties and includes federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), behavioral health providers, and a rural health network consisting of eight county public health departments.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage project team to develop and manage project schedule and workplan to align to program objectives and funder requirements
  • Manage overall project strategy, internal and external resources, budget and timelines
  • Establish contracts with outside agencies and consultants as needed
  • Assess and manage project risk, establish risk mitigation actions as required
  • Manage project staff including Project Coordinator and Evaluator
  • Collaborate with project team, subject matter experts and external consultants to establish resource library and learning management system to provide resources to a wide audience including provider organizations, parents and caregivers, educators and childcare providers
  • Develop effective patient referral pathways, including care coordination strategies, supervision partnerships, and patient monitoring processes
  • Coordinate with partners to oversee development of training strategy and schedule
  • Oversee development and implementation of data collection plan and project reporting including progress reports, outcome data and communication of results at monthly project team meetings
  • Identify challenges and opportunities for improvement related to project implementation and data collection efforts
  • Effectively work across multiple organizations and geographies to support project progress within different organizational cultures structures and communities
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors/Master's degree in related field, such as business, public health, healthcare administration or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • Related experience as a pediatric clinical provider, mental health specialist, and/or individual with lived experience desirable
  • 3-5 years of project director, project management or related experience required
  • Prior experience with large-scale implementation grants and/or SAMHSA funding preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising direct reports preferred
  • Experience within the New York State health care system (population health, behavioral health, Federally Qualified Health Centers, or similar) required

  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Ability to gather information throughout the lifespan of a project and report out to a variety of audiences
  • Experience seeing project through the full life cycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills, independently resourceful and thrives in a fully remote environment
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to defined timelines and objectives
  • Proficient with MS Office and various business software

Salary Range:

  • Salary is commensurate to education and experience with a range of $90,000 - $100,000.

Additional information:

  • This position will be remote with periodic required in-person meetings.
