The City College of New York (CCNY) is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable campus environment for all students. Gender Resources at CCNY is housed within Health and Wellness Services and addresses gender-based violence through prevention and response efforts, including education, awareness, accessible resources, and strong partnerships both on campus and within the broader community. These efforts aim to enhance support for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking (DDVSAS) and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The goal is to build a supportive, informed campus community where a culture of gender equity is cultivated, and all individuals are empowered to thrive free from violence.CCNY is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director to lead the implementation of a new federally funded initiative, Gender-Based Violence Awareness and Prevention Alliance, supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). Reporting directly to Gender Resources, the Project Director will play a central role in establishing a robust Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) to address DDVSAS on campus in collaboration with campus and community partners with particular emphasis on serving the Hispanic community, in alignment with CCNY’s designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). The Project Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management, oversight, and administration of this federally funded grant initiative. The role includes coordinating the planning and implementation of all grant requirements and supporting related activities. Other Duties
Program Leadership and Coordination: Develop and oversee the Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT), including fostering partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.
Lead the development and implementation of a culturally specific prevention and education action plan to address DDVSAS.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders. Training and Education: Collaborate with campus and community partners to coordinate OVW approved trauma-informed training for campus personnel, including safety officers, Title IX staff, student affairs and other campus professionals.
Develop population-specific training and education strategies for diverse student groups. Grant Management and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate program performance in alignment with grant objectives set forth by OVW.
Collaborate with the Research Foundation of The City University of New York’s grants and financial team to ensure proper management of grant funds. Outreach and Community Engagement: Coordinate a peer education program with support from the Project Supervisor.
Plan, implement, and assess DDVSAS programming to address specific student populations. Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed practices and cultural humility.
Support campus-wide initiatives to promote a culture of safety, equity, and respect. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
A minimum of two years working with survivors of crime, gender-based violence prevention, or related field
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
Experience with grant management and grant funding
Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for gender-based violence prevention, services for crime survivors, or a related field
Familiarity with NYC, NYS, and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA, Clery Act, Title IX, VAWA, HIPAA)
