Overview
Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive health care facility owned by King County Government, governed by a County-appointed Board of Trustees, and managed by the University of Washington School of Medicine. Its primary mission is to provide high quality healthcare to the indigent and under-served residents of King County. In serving a four-state region, Harborview is home to the internationally renowned level one trauma center, and the Medic One Emergency Response Unit which was established as one of the country's first paramedic response programs. Many of Washington State's emergency medical service technicians are trained at Harborview. The Medical Center combines state-of-the-art emergency medical services with general medicine and specialty clinics, including centers of excellence in burn, neurosciences, ophthalmology, infectious disease, and rehab therapy. Harborview Medical Center is the designated disaster control hospital for the region.
The Project Director will be a member of the Vanir leadership team responsible for the construction of the Tower portion of the Harborview Medical Center. This includes contract negotiation, scheduling, cost management and forecasting, client relations, design coordination, planning, and change management for the successful delivery of this King County approved $1.74 billion bond program.
Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead our efforts in accordance with the large healthcare project policies and procedures Develop an implementation plan and master schedule that reflects the priorities of the project
Manages relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with project teams and to develop additional work opportunities.
Authorizes set-up and manages to completion contractual responsibilities for all assigned projects.
Responsible for timely completion of all Program and Project deliverables required by the client
Financial reporting to the client and the bond oversight committee
Develop and review contract documents
Report and collaborate with client's senior management team (SMT) and staff on all project matters
Ensure develop and implement a project quality management system is followed
Ensure document and report all program/project data accurately and in a timely manner
Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client
Track all project level status and provide management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related contract requirements
Create and present program and project data clearly to multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
Develop recommended actions and assist in resolving disputes relative to design and construction
Provide management of program logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure program and project success
Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
Manages relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with project teams and to develop additional work opportunities.
Supervises the work of others and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching,
feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team
Responsible for ensuring fiscal year plan objectives are tracked, and reported related to revenue, budget and contribution goals
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is required
Ideal candidates will possess 15+ years of experience providing project / program management services on healthcare projects
Previous experience managing Hospital ground-up construction projects of 300M+ is required
Experience in managing the full construction of Healthcare construction project life-cycle: including pre-construction, design phases, and oversight of constructability reviews is required
Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required
Srong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project related scheduling systems such as MS Project or Primavera are required
Experience running and participating on a significant Design Build project
Excellent interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills. (Required)
Experience Preparing and presenting to various diverse audiences (Required)
Experience in maximizing the benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is preferred
Experience in application of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is preferred
Experience in alternative project delivery methods including Progressive Design-Build is preferred
Active Member in industry organizations such as CMAA, DBIA, APWA, AHSHE etc preferred
Registration as Architect or Professional Engineer license is preferred
PMP certification preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $160,000 - $240,000.
