Overview The Program Director will lead program start-up and ongoing operations in alignment with DHS contractual requirements, SUS guidelines, and regulatory standards. This role includes supervision, policy development, compliance, and coordination of services for residents and staff within the shelter and related programs.
Responsibilities
Manage and monitor all aspects of program start-up based on DHS contractual requirements and SUS guidelines.
Manage and monitor daily program operations of the shelter based on city, state, and federal regulatory requirements and DHS contractual requirements.
Oversee expenditures, resource allocation, and utilization.
Complete written reports to division management, SUS executive management, and funding sources; include program progress, consumer census, housing and employment placement, staffing, and service utilization.
Provide supervision, guidance, and performance evaluations to the Director of Social Services and Facility Manager.
Develop administrative program guidelines and protocols as appropriate.
Assist in developing job skills training curricula for the population served.
Develop program policy and procedures governing service provision and day-to-day operations.
Enforce corporate compliance protocols, SUS employee policies, procedures, and incident management policies.
Develop and maintain a crisis/incident management system.
Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed, including staff CPR/First Aid certifications, Fire Safety training, and Mandated Reporting training.
Maintain CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Certification.
Monitor integrity of client data and ensure regular internal chart reviews.
Facilitate professional development, in-service trainings, outside trainings, and in-house trainings for staff.
Participate in recruitment, hiring, and selection of direct care and supervisory personnel.
Facilitate periodic staff meetings and case conferences as appropriate.
Monitor the provision and documentation of all services provided to clients.
Participate in division management meetings as needed.
On-call coverage 24 hours per day with contingency planning in place.
Ensure all interactions support the mission and core values of SUS.
Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President, AIDS Services and Urgent Housing.
Work schedule includes some weekend and evening hours.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in the Human Services or related field is required.
5 years of management experience in a shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
Knowledge and experience in contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Experience in nonprofit or government-funded housing services is preferred.
