We are seeking an Program Director, Youth Development, to help lead and oversee the YMCA's expanded learning programs in the Inglewood community. In this role, you will provide direct oversight of 4-8 ELO-P/ASES braided-funded after school programs, located on school campuses, serving students TK-8th grade.

The Program Director, Youth Development, serves as a leader in the areas of School-Age expanded learning. The Program Director, Youth Development, is responsible for the supervision, management, development and operation of a regional area of after school programs and program sites, funded by ELO-P/ASES (braided). The Program Director, Youth Development, provides direct oversight and supervision of site coordinators and program staff. Responsibilities include member support and engagement, program growth and retention, fiscal and grant management, volunteer and staff development, program marketing and communication, district and school relations and engagement. Duties include the recruitment, training and supervision of staff, development of programs and activities, community involvement, school partnerships and program marketing. This position will also be responsible for maintaining YMCA risk and safety standards and maintaining compliance with all grant requirements. The Program Director, Youth Development is a member of the YMCA's centralized Youth Development Department Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and achieve enrollment goals identified in the program plan of operation for ELOP/ASES deliverables.
Ensure that all programs sites that are following program standard operation procedures (both from the YMCA and the school district). Ensure that all facilities, program areas and equipment are clean and in proper working order.
Communicate program information, registration information, schedules, etc., effectively and consistently with assigned program YMCA centers and staff.
Ensure program activities are well-rounded and implement the YMCA's ELOP/ASES curriculum framework.
Ensure that all programs are nurturing, child-centered, asset-based, and include volunteer leadership opportunities and involvement of families.
Visit program sites regularly and complete site visits that are documented and shared with staff.
Recruit and hire staff using screening tools and panel interviews to gain the best possible fit with each opening.
Provide direct supervision to department staff, assuring that all staff are qualified, certified, and are meeting minimum performance standards for their position.
Provide training for staff and volunteers on an ongoing basis through staff meetings, special courses and workshops. Support the Association in regional training events throughout the year, including occasional evening and weekend trainings and training events.
Hold regular department staff meetings. Document meeting minutes and training records accordingly. Maintain commitment to safety through regularly scheduled and documented on-site safety inspections. Meet Association standards for safety and risk management.
Maintain current records for all staff that require certifications and keep copies on file. Ensure that all job descriptions and performance standards are accurate, current and on file for all employees.

Develop annual operating budget for programs. Manage department budgets to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goals.
In partnership with the grant fiscal director, maintain systems for variance analysis, revenue and expense monitoring and control.
Oversee and conduct ongoing program member evaluations and surveys to ensure that high levels of quality in programs are maintained at all times; ensure outcomes align with the needs of the community and the YMCA's strategic framework.
Build a strong relationship with school and community by evaluating the scope and quality of the programs offered, community needs, and other providers.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Health and Human Services, Social Services or a related field preferred-or equivalent combination of academic preparation and experience.
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years managing or providing oversight to multi-site after school programs. Prior experience supervising supervisors and frontline staff is required. Strong working knowledge of and at least two (2) years of experience managing and leading ELO-P/ASES grant requirements, compliance, and reporting standards.
Certifications: Must hold or be willing to obtain within 60 days of hire: Infant-Child-Adult CPR, First Aid & AED.
Health Requirements: Completion of TB clearance within seven (7) days of hire.
Additional Skills: Strong background in program planning, fiscal management, and staff supervision, experience in school partnerships and community relations, knowledge of mandated reporting, child safety protocols, and risk management practices.

Must be able to plan, lead, and participate in both indoor and outdoor activities.

This is an in-person role based at a physical location in the Inglewood community.
