Overview The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Track 2 Project at the University of California, Davis, is a 5-year NSF-funded initiative designed to prepare 12 STEM Teacher Fellows to become highly qualified 7-12th grade teachers in high-need schools. The program focuses on research-based pedagogy and AI integration to advance learning in STEM education.
Under general supervision, the Program Director will work closely with the Project's PI & Co-PIs to manage day-to-day operations. This role includes designing and implementing program operations and evaluation frameworks, leading Teacher Fellow recruitment and selection processes, directing field placement coordination, designing curriculum for and facilitating monthly Teacher Fellow meetings, developing and executing professional development activities and workshops, creating and maintaining program resources and materials, assisting with program evaluation and NSF reporting activities, and directing multi-stakeholder partnerships with Teacher Fellows, university faculty, school district partners, and external consultants. This role requires advanced expertise in STEM education and independent decision-making authority to ensure program success through strategic coordination of complex educational initiatives.

Contract details: THIS CONTRACT POSITION ENDS ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION OR CONVERSION TO CAREER BASED ON FUNDING.
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Education or related field
Experience working with teacher preparation, teacher supervision, or professional development programs
Experience facilitating professional learning communities or similar group learning environments
Experience teaching math or science in K-12 schools
Expertise in research-based STEM education pedagogies
Independent research and evaluation skills with ability to analyze complex educational data
Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to professionally and effectively collaborate with a diverse group of individuals
Preferred Qualifications PhD in Education or related field
Experience working in or with high-need schools
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence applications in education (or willingness to learn)
Strategic thinking and decision-making authority in multi-stakeholder environments

Department Overview The School of Education was established in 2002, building on an 85-year tradition at UC Davis of working to strengthen public education. The School offers preparation for the California teaching credential, master’s and doctoral-level programs for educational researchers and practitioners, and professional development for educators throughout Northern California. The School has over 40 full time senate and clinical faculty and 80 staff. The School's total budget is over $30 million and is comprised of state general funds, tuition and self-supporting revenue.

Work Environment:
