Essential Functions

Provide on-site and continuous coverage for the Community Living program-serving adults

with disabilities;

Direct all the activities for Community Living program; Oversee all program operations; Develop and implement program operations; Ensure that all medical appointments are scheduled; ensure that all accidents are properly

reported;

Supervise program staff; evaluate, monitor, hire and terminate staff; review and approve

staff time records;

Serve as liaison with the day programs, other agencies, individuals, and related services

staff and consultants and family members regarding administrative issues;

Promote SJCS to other agencies; educate and increase awareness on SJCS activities; Monitor program budgets; assist with annual budget preparation; perform all monthly

billing; ensure integrity of client funds;

Ensure compliance with all funding, regulatory and accrediting agency’s standards, as well

as with internal program and personnel policies;

Work with referral resources to determine if SJCS is right for new consumers; Attend and participate in all relevant agency events, workshops, training and meetings; Keep abreast by reading periodicals and specialized announcements; Provide coverage when there is a staffing need; and Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Ability to gain thorough knowledge of St. John’s Community Services policies and procedures; Ability to act as a representative of St. John’s Community Services to the public; Ability to provide 24/7 coverage for program; Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of administrative management, and the ability to interpret them to the staff and the public; Extensive knowledge of program practices and procedures; Knowledge of budget preparation and maintenance; Ability to keep the all relevant parties informed of all major issues and programs and to recommend changes as appropriate; Ability to supervise, plan, and coordinate the work of diverse staff in order to accomplish departmental goals and objectives; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, representatives from other agencies, and the general public; Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions; Skilled in the operation of relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.

Education And Experience

B.A. /B.S. degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation or related field required; Master’s preferred. Requires five or more years’ experience of direct service with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, preferably in a community based residential setting; One year supervisory experience required; Must meet current SJCS and funding jurisdiction requirements for criminal background/records check. Must meet current SJCS and funding jurisdiction requirements for valid health certificate. Valid state-issued driver’s license with current driving record in good standing required.

Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.
